A letter from pastor bill

dear ycc family,

I am excited to announce our plans for "Moving by Faith," YCC's Capital Stewardship Campaign. Our campaign began last month with the enlistment of a leadership team that will guide our church through this six-month process. With the money raised, we plan to break ground on our new 20,000 square foot church facility in the near future.

I am thankful that Bob and Kathy Vogel will be serving as our campaign chairs, along with the rest of the many people who have stepped up so far to serve in this campaign.

There is a place for all our YCC family to be involved in our "Moving by Faith" campaign. I invite all of you to participate. WE will train you; you will get a great opportunity to meet and work with other YCC family members and, most importantly, you will get the satisfaction of helping the ministry of YCC continue to grow to meet the needs of our congregation and the community. Please contact the church office to join our stewardship campaign team. We need you!

Throughout our stewardship campaign, I ask that you take the time to ask the Lord to instruct and guide you on how you will participate in giving of the resources God has blessed you with. Psalm 24:1 gives us a beautiful picture of what motivates our stewardship of resources, "The earth and everything in it, the world and its inhabitants, belong to the Lord."

~ Pastor Bill

Moving By faith background

YCC has grown to over 200 in our Sunday service. Our ministries include healthy worship, classes for adults and children, youth group, growth groups and more, as well as extensive community outreach. Our facilities are crowded in spite of steps taken to maximize the space we have.

YCC owns 12.5 acres across from the Little League ball fields. The time has come to use this land to expand our outreach to Yacolt and surrounding area.

Our building committee has overseen the design of a facility that will allow greater service to our people and to the community.

The plan is to build on four of the 12.5 acres a 2.5 to 3 million dollar facility in stages so that we can begin using the earliest possible.

PLEASE SAY "YES!"

YCC's sixty year history demonstrates God's faithfulness. It demonstrates also the necessity of one hundred percent involvement on the part of the church family. Please pray for the church throughout this campaign. Stay informed. Say "yes!" when invited to play a part in the campaign.

CAMPAIGN PRAYER TEAM

The Prayer Team has the wonderful role of taking to God every aspect of the capital stewardship campaign. Our two Prayer Leaders; Barb Worley and Julia Heldman, will be incorporating the campaign into the church's regular prayer life, as well as developing new prayer initiatives. Prayer is a vital and foundational part of the campaign.

CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES

As part of the campaign, the children will express their love for YCC by creating posters. These posters will be displayed inside the church from September 29 through October 20. Also, in two or three of their normal Sunday classes, children will be learning all about scriptural stewardship.

NFORMATION DISTRIBUTION IN SEPTEMBER

The Moving by Faith leaders have designed a packet containing important items so you will be fully informed about the campaign. Each packet contains a letter from Pastor Bill, a prayer card, a question slip, and other materials about the project and the needs it fills. Every church family will receive a packet. They may be picked up September 15 and 22. If you are unable to pick one up, it will be mailed to you.

"NOT EQUAL GIFTS, BUT EQUAL SACRIFICE"

During the next few months, the church body will explore the spirituality of stewardship. The simple and profound theme that underscores our Moving by Faith campaign comes from the Bible's teaching about proportionate giving and the blessings of sacrifice. No gift impresses God in terms of dollar amount, but only as an extension of the love and obedience from which it comes.

Please pray that Moving by Faith will accomplish what it is meant to do, that God will keep us on the path of obedience and trust and Christ will be imprinted on each of our hearts.

Commitment Sunday

Please put October 20 on your calendar as the day every family at YCC will receive a commitment card. Please be ready to fill out your card for whatever sacrificial commitment you want to make.
